During the renovation of our dining room, we needed to protect the electrical outlet from the curious fingers of our twins. As we had to run a power cable to the desk at the other end of the room, it was essential not only to prevent the children from accessing the outlet but also to stop them from unplugging the cable. To address this, we installed an additional outlet cover. Feel free to watch our installation video!

Here is the installation process:

Prior to installation, it is crucial to switch off the circuit breakers. We placed the cover behind a new outlet cover equipped with child safety features. The screw provided was long enough, as we had previously installed a thicker cover. There was no need to replace the outlet itself.

Furthermore, we secured the cable to the wall and installed a cable channel to prevent the children from pulling on it. The cable discreetly disappears behind the baseboard.

Fortunately, they have not managed to open the box yet. If needed, we can always add a lock.
